Well after many moons as a member of DA, I have finally decided to subscribe.

After seeing so many give alot back to this site, its only right I do the same.
So starting today, I will devote a little time each week to updating my journal and because of the popularity I shall also be sharing my weekly faves.

I dont promise to show work you will all like, only the work that makes an impact on me at the time. Obviously there will be plenty of architecture and landscapes simply because this my hobbyist genre.

However, from time to time I may post anything from photojournalism  to fetish portraits. I am a wedding/portrait photographer by trade and I would prefer to keep my work at work.

Thanks for reading, I'll update soon!

So, last week I eagerly awaited the delivery of my shiny new Tamron 17-50 2.8 XR Di lens.

I have been dying to get a decent fast wide angle for ages now. So anyway, the lens arrives as planned, I wack it on the front of my D70s and happily snap away taking some test shots.

With third party lenses such as Tamron and Sigma the quality control can be a bit hit and miss.

So, after the test shots I found the lens to produce awesome clarity, contrast and colours. Excellent! No! After further testing I found that the Tamron struggled to gain proper focus lock using the other focus points other than centre.

The weird thing is, using manual focus I can get a nice sharp shot no matter what focus point I use. It's all down to a poor AF system. It may have something to do with the D70s and the lens AF-S.

Anyway, the lens if off to Tamron under warranty. Shame really, Tamron did well with the quality of glass in this but only let down by the poor AF system.

Ill keep you posted, incase your looking into buying a Tamron lens

Drat, that went quick.

Back to the usuall mundane routine for me. Work again on Monday. How I hate Mondays.

As its time to step back into my routine I may not get chance to do some Photography for a while. I promised I would start to install the new kitchen this week, something I have been putting on the back burner for a while.

I have a family portrait assignment coming up soon so thats ok. The client wants me to do a shoot of her two kids and there dog. Should be cool.

Im sure I can squeeze some deviant time along the way tho.

Take care and Happy togging
